The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Pick 'n' roll:

Wednesday's best basketball bets

NBA

New Jersey Nets at Boston Celtics (-12, 184)

The Celtics might have to start pulling people out of the crowd to have a full roster. Centers Semih Erden (personal), Shaquille O’Neal (achilles) and Jermaine O’Neal (knee) are all out for Wednesday night. Guard Marquis Daniels (neck) remains sidelined and it looks like Delonte West (wrist) won’t return to action after tweaking his hand trying to grab a rebound late in practice.

And guard Paul Pierce, who went 0-for-10 from the floor against the Heat on Sunday and had an ankle MRI on Monday, is expected to be a game-time decision as the team weighs its options with resting him before the All-Star break.

“I would like our second unit to form an identity and get some kind of rhythm,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. “I don’t think we’ve registered one minute with our entire second unit this year. That means we are way behind.”

But don’t expect the Nets to shed any tears. The team is coming off a 17-point drubbing at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs and is just 2-5 SU and ATS its past seven games.

None of those, however, were against the Celtics. New Jersey always seems to play Boston tough, especially as a big underdog. The Nets are 1-7 SU but 6-2 ATS in their past eight meetings against the Celtics.

And New Jersey loves being a big underdog. Getting nine or more points against the Green and White, the Nets are 5-1 ATS in such games since 2009. This season, the Nets have a phenomenal 8-4 ATS record in games they get at least nine points.

Pick: New Jersey

NCAA

Michigan Wolverines at Illinois Fighting Illini (-9.5, 131.5)

The young Wolverines are starting to play like grizzled veterans. Michigan is 5-1 SU and ATS over its past six games, sparking talk of an NCAA Tournament berth as the side loaded with underclassman is starting to live up to it's potential in a hurry.

"We just kind of looked ourselves in the mirror after the Minnesota game at home (a 69-64 loss) and we didn't like what we saw," junior Zack Novak said. "Guys weren't playing with the energy we needed. The last few weeks, we've really focused. Once you get back inside your goal, it gives you a little extra motivation because you can see it.”

How does this look? Michigan also has been frisky as an underdog, going 4-2 ATS in the team’s past six games it got points. That’s bad news for an Illini team that has handled success about as well as the Olsen twins.

Starting point guard Demetri McCamey, who went 1-for-10 from the floor in an 11-point loss to Purdue, has basically played himself out of the NBA draft as the Illini are doing just enough to linger on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

Aside from McCamey’s recent shoddy play, the team loves to play down to its competition. Illinois is an abysmal 3-4 ATS in its past seven games as a favorite.

Pick: Michigan <table style="table-layout: fixed;" border="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr> <td colspan="2" class="smalltext" width="100%">

Ice picks:

Wednesday's best NHL bets

Pittsburgh Penguins at Colorado Avalanche (-150, 5.5)

This matchup could actually resemble an old version of the Playstation game NHL Hitz: lots of big checks and gaudy scoring.

Colorado has fallen from contending with the Vancouver Canucks before Christmas for first place in the Northwest Division, to contending with Edmonton for last place in the Western Conference as we approach Presidents Day.

The Avalanche are 1-9 in their past 10 and a horrendous 6-18 over their past 24. The flaw for the team over that span has been an abysmal defense. Over its past 10 games, the team has coughed up an average of 4.4 goals per game and no fewer than three in any contest. Everything came to a head in a 9-1 loss to Calgary on Monday that saw backup goaltender Peter Budaj actually pulled twice as he gave up five goals on 18 shots.

"We should be ashamed of our performance," Avalanche center Paul Stastny said.

But things haven’t been much better in Pittsburgh. The Penguins are dealing with an absurd number of injuries to their forwards as the team has dropped four over their past five. During that stretch, the team has given up a whopping 22 goals, including a 9-3 beatdown from the Islanders that featured 346 penalty minutes.

Both teams have seen the over hit in their past two games.

Pick: Over

Carolina Hurricanes at New Jersey Devils (-135, 5.5)

If the Devils miss Martin Brodeur, they sure aren’t playing like it. Since spraining his MCL on Feb. 6 in a win over Montreal, the future Hall of Famer has been sidelined, leaving backup Johan Hedberg to shoulder the load between the pipes.

And all the Moose has done is win.

Hedberg has backstopped the team to three straight wins, stopping 82 of 86 shots as he has conceded a mere four goals over that span. But he’s not the only Devil who has been white hot. Forward Ilya Kovalchuk has notched six goals and six assists over the past 10 games, while potting the game winner in each of the past two games and three out of the past four.

"I've seen it before," said Hedberg, who played with Kovalchuk in Atlanta. "This is the fifth year I've been with him. He's an elite player in the world. Like everybody else, he had a slower start than he wanted. You can tell he's stepped it up a couple of notches."

On the other bench, the Hurricanes are just trying to find a rhythm. The team is coming off of a 3-2 win in Atlanta, but dropped its three previous games, including a 3-2 loss to New Jersey down South on Feb. 8.

Guess who was in net for that one? Hedberg.

Pick: New Jersey

Bettors' best friend (BBF): Wednesday's wagering tips

Injury of interest

Michael Beasley, Minnesota Timberwolves: Beasley is currently expected to sit out Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers with his nagging ankle issue. This is Minnesota’s last game before the All-Star break, so it makes sense that the T-Wolves would sit him down, hoping he can come back close to 100 percent. Wes Johnson has started in Beasley’s place but hasn’t been all that effective and was benched during Monday’s loss to the Blazers.

Key trends

NBA: The New Orleans Hornets have covered just once over their last nine games, losing outright seven times over the slump.

NBA: Indiana has covered the number in each of its last eight meetings with the Detroit Pistons and Pacers supporters have cashed in on five of the club’s last six games overall.

NBA: Each of the last four meetings between Sacramento and Dallas have played over the posted total. Meanwhile, the Kings have topped the total in four of their last five overall and the Mavs have played over in six of their last seven.

NCAAB: Georgetown has won eight straight games, covering in six of those, heading into Wednesday’s big game against UConn. Meanwhile, the Huskies are 1-4 ATS in their last five.

NCAAB: Wisconsin has covered in seven of its last 10 games but is riding a 2-6 ATS run when playing at Purdue.

NCAAB: Pittsburgh is 7-2 ATS in its last nine, helping the club to improve to 11-9 against the number on the year.

NHL: The Los Angeles Kings are making a run at the playoffs with a 7-0-2 streak heading into Wednesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Kings have taken four of their last five meetings with Columbus.

NHL: New Jersey has just one regulation loss since Jan. 9, going 12-1-2 in its last 15 games. The Devils host the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.

NHL: The Colorado Avalanche are 1-11 in their last 12 games as they get set to welcome the Pittsburgh Penguins into town on Wednesday.

Number of note

6 – The Orlando Magic are cracking down on defense lately, playing under the total in six straight games while holding each of those opponents to fewer than 100 points. The Magic now sit sixth in the Association allowing 94.3 points per game and face another spotty offense on Wednesday as they play host to the Washington Wizards.

Notes and tips

Miami’s Chris Bosh makes his first trip back to the Air Canada Centre as a member of the Heat on Wednesday and shouldn’t expecting the red-carpet treatment. “(A hard foul on Bosh) would mean a great deal,” said Sonny Weems, the Raptors swingman. “It probably wouldn’t even be the fact that we fouled. It’s just Chris hitting the ground. That’d be the biggest thing about it.” Bosh took some time to get settled in Miami, but is now putting up 18.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for the Heat, who are only 2-7 ATS in their last nine trips to Toronto.

Denver’s Carmelo Anthony left Monday’s blowout loss at Houston with a bruised shoulder, but is expected to be OK to start Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Nuggets have dropped four of their last five games straight up and against the number while playing over in four of those contests as well. The latest Anthony trade rumor had ‘Melo and Chauncey Billups headed to New York in exchange for Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Eddy Curry’s expiring contract and no less than one first-round pick. The Knicks reportedly shot down that proposal, so it’s back to the drawing board again for the Nuggets. Anthony is putting up 33 points and six rebounds a night over his last five games.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Tomas Kaberle has been reportedly given permission to the Toronto Maple Leafs to talk to the Boston Bruins about the possibility of a trade. Kaberle has a no-trade clause so he holds the final say on any moves, though with his contract expiring at the end of the season, it is thought he would entertain offers to move to a contending team. The veteran defenseman has three goals and 36 points in 56 games. The Maple Leafs are in Buffalo for a date with the Sabres Wednesday night.
